The time has come for our annual Highland Middle School Change Drive to benefit Highland families in need through the Highland Community Support Network. Each year the Middle School holds a change drive to raise money to help support the Highland Community Support Network with their holiday drive and their needs at the start of the year. The need is very high this year.
The Change Drive will be from November 12th through November 18th. Students can bring in money to donate to their A.L.L. classes on those days. If families would like to make a donation by check, it should be made out to Highland Community Support Network. The grade levels will compete to see which grade can contribute the most, but the real prize is the ability to help those in our community in need. The idea behind it is if we all give a little, we can do a lot! In the last several years that we were able to hold our dive, the generosity of our students and families has helped so many families!
Additionally, the Highland Community Support Network will be providing support to many families for the Thanksgiving holiday. To support them, we are collecting Thanksgiving food items (potatoes, sweet potatoes, canned vegetables, etc). The network is providing support for many people with extreme needs within our community and could really use our help. If a student would like to contribute, please bring all items to Mrs. Malquest's room (room 611) by November 20th.
Activity Night will be held on November 14 from 7-9.
Ticket sales occur at lunch/recess time for students. Tickets are not sold at the door. Tickets are $10. Your ticket gets you adminssion, 2 snacks, and 1 drink. Additional snacks for purchase.
Only HMS students are allowed.
Students are able to dance in the West Gym, play games in the East Gym with an inflatable obstacle course, play video games outside the East Gym, and eat snacks and hang out in the Cafeteria.
Activity night can only occur with parent volunteers.

A special thank you to a few Girl Scouts from Troop 91394 who are current HHS freshmen. They took some time this Summer and Fall to earn their Silver Award.
Madison Keeley, May Kopp, Olivia Martello, and Lily McManus's project gave our courtyard a facelift. They cleared out the weeds, trimmed up the trees, planted some bushes, and provided us with these decorations.
Lucy Lindsey and Colleen Rees cleaned all of our picnic tables, including the bird droppings on top and gum stuck on the bottom. They also applied a stain to help lengthen the life of the tables, as well as to make them look nice.
Annie Helsel created a digital cookbook titled, Beyond the Field. You can check out her yummy recipes here.
