Activity Night/ Movie Night

Highland Middle School will be showing The Avengers after school on Friday, December 2nd at the high school auditorium!

We need volunteers from 2:30pm to 5:30pm!

Admission will be $5.00 per student to cover the cost of food - pizza, chips, cookie and a drink. The student can purchase a color coded (by grade) wristband during their lunchtime on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday the week of the event. The wristband will be put on the students wrist at the time of purchase after their permission slip has been turned in. Permission slips will be available at the ticket window, in the office, and online.

PLEASE NOTE: THERE WILL BE NO WRISTBANDS SOLD AT THE DOOR or after 12:30pm on Friday! Students attending MUST purchase their wristband during their lunchtime.

HMS students will ride their assigned bus to the HIGH SCHOOL at school dismissal. The wristband will indicate to the bus driver they have permission to get off at the high school.

Pick up, upper lot at Highland High School - about 5:30pm.

Canned Food Drive

As of this morning we have brought in 625 items for our food drive. The 8th grade is currently in the lead by 25 cans over the 7th grade in our class competition. Yesterday we were ahead of Wadsworth by approximately 50 cans.

Holiday Hat Day

Each year the Highland school district shows its spirit and community support with a Holiday Hat Day. On Tuesday Dec 6 students and staff in every school in Highland will have a Holiday Hat Day. For a dollar donation to the United Way of Medina County, students and staff are able to where their favorite hat during the day. At the Middle School, dollars will be collected as students enter for the day.

The next PTO meeting is Dec 14 at 9:00.

Tailgates

The first Tailgate for basketball will be on Jan 10th for the boys basketball games against Revere Middle School. In January we will be selling HMS T-shirts along with tailgate tickets for the boys and girls games.

I will also be seeking out Student Section Leaders to help get our tailgate participants to be a part of the game. The Student Section Leaders would get free admission. More info to come on the daily announcements.

Save the Date

I continue to hear rumors and reports of students exhibiting uncharacteristic behaviors online. I encourage parents to read and look through their child's phone regularly. I also encourage everyone to attend the parent meeting of Jesse Weinberger on January 23 in the High School Auditorium at 7:00 PM.
