Solo & Ensemble

Last Saturday several of our band, orchestra, and choir students participated in the Solo and Ensemble Competition. Our band students all received the highest marks possible on their performances. According to Mr. Marquette, this is the first time that ALL groups achieved the highest level. Congratulations! Choir students had 19 Superior ratings out of 27 performances.

B.I.O.N.I.C. (Believe It or Not I Care) Night - 7th grade only

This is one of the best things that HMS does every year. I highly encourage all 7th graders to attend. The program is a mix of fun (games, dance, cartoonist) and educational sessions facing adolescents (alcohol, cyber safety, life skills, positive self image, etc).

Friday March 3 from 2:30-7:45pm with a parent seminar in the HMS Media Center from 6:30-7:45.

8TH GRADE NEWS

HHS Orientation and Scheduling

8th grade students have taken a visit to the Medina County Career Center. They will now visit Highland High School for their initial orientation on Feb. 8 and 9. This will begin their scheduling process for their 2017 Freshman classes. I encourage parents to take a look at the High School Course of Study document to educate yourself on the course offerings at HHS and begin to chart a four year pathway with your child according to the goals they have for themselves. It would also be wise to review the Ohio Graduation Requirements.

HHS Parent Orientation Meeting

February 16 6:30-7:30 in the High School Auditorium. Please attend this meeting to hope your child prepare for the next 4 years. A great deal of information will be presented, and it is a great time to get your questions answered.
