State Test Schedule

The annual state tests (AIR tests) will begin for students at the end of April and beginning of May. I have provided the schedule below.

Please make an effort to schedule doctor's appointments around the testing days. If you know your son/daughter will be missing several days, please notify the office, so we can schedule and plan for make up tests. A good breakfast before school, helps students be alert and at their best.

All tests will occur between 7:30 and 10:00 am unless otherwise noted. Actual testing time ranges from 75 to 120 minutes.

April 17 & 18 - 6th grade Language Arts Test

April 19 & 20 - 7th grade Language Arts Test

April 24 & 25 - 8th grade Language Arts Test

April 23, 26, & 27 - make up Language Arts Tests for all grades

PTO Meeting Change

Renewal Levy

The Highland Schools will be asking voters to renew a 7.9-mill operating levy first approved in 1998 for operating expenses.

This is a RENEWAL ONLY, which means NO NEW TAXES.

QUICK FACTS

  • The passage of this renewal is critical for the day-to-day operation of our school district.
  • If renewed for another 10 years, the levy would cost homeowners $155 a year per $100,000 of property valuation.
  • The renewal generates about $4.15 million annually for the district, the same as it does now.
  • The 7.9-mill renewal levy on the books expires at the end of this year.
