Academic Practice (Homework): Homework will be given. Homework may include any subject area, but will mainly consist of math, reading, and reviewing spelling words. I will not assign regular subject homework over a weekend or school break, but your student may need to spend time reading, working on Lexia, or completing late work. A student’s time management in the classroom greatly impacts the amount of homework he/she will have. At 3^rd grade, students should spend 30 minutes a night on some type of academic practice. There will be an Academic Practice log in your child’s folder each night. Please take time to discuss this with your child and initial that your child has completed the work.

Absences: If your child is ill, please keep them at home. We realize sick kids can be inconvenient to an adult’s schedule, but keeping sick kids at home will limit the risk of infection to others. PLEASE call the office and arrange to pick up homework.

If you know of an upcoming absence, make arrangements ahead of time to complete assignments they will miss. It is very important that your child complete the missing work in a timely manner. It is difficult to “catch up” the next day, as we continue on to the next lessons.
