The Faculty Handbook (also referred to as the “Handbook”) is prepared for employees at Hesston College who hold faculty appointments as defined in the Handbook. The Handbook provides policies, information, and forms for faculty. Each faculty member is responsible to understand and follow the policies in the Handbook. Unless specified in the policy, exceptions to the policies in the Handbook must be approved by the Vice President of Academics.
Revisions made to the policies in this Handbook are subject to faculty approval as outlined in the bylaws within. Information documents and forms in the Appendix may be changed as needed without voting if approved by consensus of the following three individuals: Vice President of Academics, Registrar, and Faculty Chair. Faculty members are encouraged to contact Faculty Council representatives for clarification or to suggest revisions to the Handbook.
The Faculty Handbook provides policies specific to faculty members and does not constitute a contract of employment. In the event of a conflict between the Human Resources guide and the Faculty Handbook, the Human Resources guide will govern the response.
