In Grades 1-8, the school year is divided into two terms with three formal reporting periods. On all report cards, teacher share students' information regarding their learning and achievement of the learning skills and work habits and the Ontario Curriculum expectations.
In November, students will receive a formal Progress Report Card which will highlights students' progress towards the Curriculum expectations at this point in the year. Teachers will use a rating scale to highlight this information using:
* Progressing Very Well
* Progressing Well
* Progressing With Difficulty
Teachers will also write personalized comments that indicate what has been learned, the students' strengths and next steps.
In February (or, on occasion, March) and June, students will receive a formal Provincial Report Card that will highlight how students have achieved the overall Curriculum expectations for each subject. Teachers will determine the quality of all evidence of student work collected over time. Teachers will continue to write personalized comments as well as individual marks for each subject area using the following:
