Remember singing this song out in our school parking lot last year? This was fun! In honor of flag day (June 14), let's sing along with this recording! Then, try to find yourself in the video! What color paper were you holding? Red? White? Or Blue?
Enjoy this video lesson which shows you one of Mr. Ebsary's coolest instruments: a folding organ made in the 1940s! This instrument was used on army bases during World War II so that soldiers could sing during church services.

Celebrate the Mexican holiday Cinco de Mayo by singing along with this favorite Mexican song, "Senor Don Gato," with amazing artwork by Mrs. Hand-Smith! Do you remember all the words from the story? Sing along if you do!
You might recognize this song from the radio! This is a nice tune that is especially appropriate for us to play in our time apart from the classroom. You'll learn a new note: low C, which you'll need to use very gentle air into the instrument to make it come out right.
Be sure to count your participation by filling out the Google Form! Share your playing through the FlipGrid link to get direct feedback from me!
Let's take a break from the recorder to get creative with writing lyrics! Sing along with "Spirit Soar" and then come up with your own verses using the worksheet below. Then, sing your verses along with the video!
Finally, share some of your ideas and reflect on your verses in the Google Form.

Remember our last class together in room 201? It feels like ages ago! We worked on a new song called "Boogie Down to 201." I've posted the sheet music of that song below. Even further down this page you'll find 3 videos that you can play the song with; there's a slow one for just starting out, then one at medium speed for when you're a little more comfortable with the tune, and finally a fast version for when you've really got it cookin'!
Take a break from recorder today to sing along with one of our favorite songs from years past: "Don Gato!"
Note the amazing artwork by Mrs. Hand-Smith!
Challenge: Can you sing the entire song by memory? It's a long one but thinking of how the story goes should help!
Hi 3rd graders! You'll find all of our recorder belt songs posted below. Remember our steps to practicing these:
Read the rhythms first! (1, 2+, 3..)
Read the note names! (G, A, B...)
Read the notes while doing the fingerings on the recorder.
Play the song!
