The North STEAM Fair is an innovative alternative to the typical science fair for TK- 5th grade students. This exciting approach features Science, Technology, Engineering, Art/Design and Mathematics [STEAM] as educational opportunities and viable career paths. More than just a Science Fair, the STEAM Fair inspires curiosity and is a variation that offers a place for our students to exhibit their work alongside their peers and promotes endless possibilities, which enables students to explore their interests and talents by offering five elective categories from which students can choose:
Invention and Design
Reverse Engineering
Robotics
Art and Models
Scientific Inquiry
Students, working alone or together with siblings, parents (the entire family), a friend/classmate or neighbor, should take time to explore ideas for each category before making a selection. The Project Guidelines and Descriptions highlight requirements for each category. Once a category has been selected, students will then complete a preliminary form outlining their project idea. All North TK-5 students can participate in the North STEAM Fair.
Projects must be approved by both parent and teacher, please submit an IDEA Form in order to have your project approved.
Please follow the required guidelines as outlined on the Project Guidelines and Descriptions pages as you work on your project.
All projects will need a Tri-fold visual display and writing component describing the process and/or project as mentioned in each category.
