Definition:
Robots: A robot is a mechanical or virtual intelligent agent that can perform tasks automatically or with guidance, often by remote control. Robots can be autonomous, semi-autonomous or remotely controlled. Many are controlled via simple computer code.
New for 2022!- Coding Project: Students can create a game, movie, or infographic using coding software. Scratch, Tynker, Minecraft Mods, and other platforms allowed and encouraged.
Requirements: A successful Robotics or Coding entry must have the following:
Purpose of robot or computer is logical, explainable, and relates to real world application
Constructed and/or programmed by student, so student can explain working functions
Any computer games, movies, or actions (of a robot) are school appropriate.
Project must include:
Tri-fold display board (see tri-fold example page) highlighting the requirements listed below:
Name of robot or computer program, your name, grade and teacher name
A well-organized and detailed written description detailing the development and the functionality of the robot or coding creation
Explanation of operation and functionality of components - please include illustrations and/or images
Mock-up of key components or fully functional robot
The robot or code clearly shows sequence of operation and cause and effect relationship of parts
Each component/sub-system is described, with no needed components missing
