Building ELACCSS Foundational Skills

Learning to read is a process. Each child accomplishes the rewarding task of

unlocking the code differently. At some point along the path students will need reinforcement or advancement in a particular skill area. Our talented teachers recognize the need for specific reteaching and reinforcing, the links below are flow chart consisting of a CCSS reading standards, followed by a bank of researched interventions, ending with links containing specific lessons, interactive games, and strategies. This resource is adaptable, a teacher may wish to refer to the flow chart during small group or whole group instruction. Guardians and parents are welcome to dive into the resources to gain a better understanding of the reading foundational skills being taught and links to help your little one reinforce or excel with a specific skill.
