To apply for this scholarship, an applicant must submit the following application documents:
(1) A cover letter that provides the applicant’s full name, school address, home address, cell phone number, home phone number, student email address, and a statement that the applicant is a US Citizen. In addition, the cover letter should describe the applicant’s current academic progress (BS, MS, or PhD student) and the date of anticipated graduation.
(2) A copy of all of the applicant’s transcripts (unofficial transcripts are acceptable).
(3) ACT or SAT scores for undergraduates. (If you don't have it, it is ok.)
(4) At least two letters of reference. It is better from your professors or managers, not from relatives or friends. Please ask your references directly send signed-and-scanned letters (in PDF format) to yingfei@hawaii.edu.
(5) A statement from the applicant that discusses the applicant’s motivation for applying, interest in cybersecurity, any past relevant experiences, and future plans. Please include any current or past military service.
(6) Resume. A good tutorial on how to format your federal resume is attached in the following.
(7) Proof of citizenship (copy of passport, birth certificate, etc.) Drivers licenses or State IDs do not work for citizenship, because they are issued to non-citizens too.
