NHSEMP strives to increase the advancement of high-need students in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) while promoting UH Mānoa's vision as a Native Hawaiian place of learning.
Our mission is to provide assistance, opportunities, and community for students to excel in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). Comprehensive support involving outreach, recruitment, retention, and placement strategies aim to increase the number of qualified individuals on a successful path to leadership in community, industry, and academia.

2026-2027 Freshman Bridge Application Now Available!
NHSEMP Freshman Bridge Program 2026-27
Deadline: Sept. 1, 2026 by 11:59pm HST
What: A dedicated cohort program for first-year STEM students at UH Mānoa with foundations in cultural values, identity, and practices that addresses the following areas of interest for first-year college students:
Greater preparation for college success (identifying resources and opportunities);
Comfort within a large university system;
Build an academic community of peers, faculty & staff, and professionals!
