Choosing Not to Read K. Beers

Beers, one of the few middle/secondary reading specialist talks about the issue of readers who know how to read but do not read. She calls it aliterate. 

"the less students read, the poorer the readers they become. The poorer the readers they become, the harder reading is for them" (1).
