Dean of Students

As the Dean of Students for the Lower School I am responsible for following-up on disciplinary incidents referred to my office. The Dean of Students will investigate incidents by following-up with school personnel by with all parties involved to get to the full story in order to plan for a solution with your son.

Students sent to the Dean’s office for serious disciplinary infractions, or behavior that interferes with the learning of others in the classroom will have opportunities to describe what happened, take responsibility for their actions, and make connections to core values from our LS Foundations. This process gives boys and chance to reflect, fix, and repair mistakes in order to identify better choices, and plan for better outcomes.

Team Approach

At Haverford we use a team approach to support boys by working together with parents and teachers to do what is best for your son. The Dean of Students will inform parents on the same day that their son has been sent to the Dean’s office. All communication between the Dean's office and home is private and intended to share information so we may work together as a team on behalf of the boys.
