Students learned about the tools firefighters use to fight fires from our local firefighters. TK also received fire safety tips.
Fire Prevention Week
The O'Brien County Naturalist came to visit HMS. She stopped into the TK classroom and taught us about the five senses animals use to learn about the world around them.
Upcoming units students will soon study are animals and animal habitats.
TK studied the metamorphosis of caterpillars. Vicki Conway brought in caterpillars that quickly moved into their j form. Each caterpillar shaped a chrysalis. TK patiently waited for the caterpillars to change into beautiful butterflies. The wait was worth it!
TK also learned that not all caterpillars make it to their full life cycle, as one butterfly never emerged from its chrysalis.
