TK received Christmas books and candy canes from the HMS PIE group. PIE stands for Parents in Education, a group of parents supporting students and teachers.

TK engaged in an extension activity, building a sunflower, which helped them learn about the four plant parts.

TK studied the metamorphosis of caterpillars. Vicki Conway brought in caterpillars that quickly moved into their j form. Each caterpillar shaped a chrysalis. TK patiently waited for the caterpillars to change into beautiful butterflies. The wait was worth it!
TK also learned that not all caterpillars reach their full life cycle, as one butterfly never emerged from its chrysalis.
