In 3rd grade, we encourage students to take responsibility for completing their assignments and making sure they are returned to school the next day.

The assigned homework should take your child about 30 minutes per subject to complete. If the homework is taking longer, or your child is struggling with the assignment, please send me an email.

For the first half of the year, if your child misses three homework assignments, they will be given a homework notice. After winter break, homework notices will be given for any missed homework assignment unless I hear from the parent.

Green: dragging, blaming, swimming, hoping, hopping, shopped, ripped, winning, scrubbed, dropping, sobbed, owing, quitting, squealed

Red: exploring, thinning, blurred, changing, boasted, swimming, flaming, piling, squealed, quitting, hoping, hopping, sobbed, squirmed

Vocabulary-

Prairie: a large, mostly flat grassland with few trees

Slick: very smooth and slippery

Fetch: to go and bring back

Clattered: to make a rattling sound

Sniff: to breath in through the nose and quickly and with a soft noise

Rough: not smooth to the touch

Thumped: to hit in away that makes a low, dull sound

Batted: to hit or tap

Buzzing: to make a low, humming sound like a bee

Rustle: a soft crackling sound like dry leaves
