My Philosophy of Education

I believe that education is the foundation that shapes a person's life. Education should be made up of many building blocks that are connected in a way that will enable children to learn, grow, and reach their goals.

I believe that the classroom should be a place where students are comfortable to find and develop belief in their own potential. It should be a place where children feel safe and at home. The climate of the classroom should be inviting, exciting, and cooperating in order for innovative thinking to take place.

I believe it is important to recognize that all children are unique and have different learning styles. As teachers, we need to see children, not as a number but as a person who is worthy of his or her individuality. Using different teaching methods and differentiated instruction across the curriculum will ensure education for all students without compromising them as innovative thinkers.

I believe that a child's education rests in the hands of the teacher. In order to be a great teacher, you need to dream of truly making a difference in your student's lives. As a great teacher, you need to challenge students to think outside the box, have high expectations, and help students find their true purpose and goals for learning. A great teacher is someone who will be an instrument of inspiration in and out of the classroom.

I believe that my role as a teacher is to strive to keep joy in learning. As teachers, we need to find those creative outlets to help students see that learning can be fun. I feel that if we can find the magic that resides in each child, we can better their learning experiences.
