Course Description:
Geometry provides students with tools to solve problems about objects and shapes in two- and three-dimensions, including theorems about universal truths and spatial reasoning. The course will include an in-depth study of the properties of lines, angles, plane figures, and circles as they apply to real life and also apply the relationships that exist among the figures. The honors level course utilizes mathematical proofs to solidify geometric concepts and the use of logical reasoning within each topic of study. Honors students will derive and prove formulas and theorems used throughout the course. Students will perform mathematical tasks without the assistance of a calculator.
