I grew up and lived in Michigan for most of my life. I graduated from Grand Valley State University in 2005 with a Bachelor's of Science in Physical Education and a minor in Elementary Education. I played varsity softball at Grand Valley State University while attending school. I subbed and worked in schools part-time for the next 3 years. I moved with my husband down to Greenville, South Carolina in August 2008. I was the PE teacher at Greenbrier Elementary in 2008-2009. After that year, PE was switched to only once per week so my job was eliminated. I chose to stay at Greenbrier and taught the next 6 years in 3rd grade. I then moved to Robert E. Cashion Elementary and taught PE for 4 years. I was named Robert E. Cashion's Teacher of the Year for the 2018-2019 school year. I then moved to Rudolph Gordon School and taught PE for 4 years. This will be my 17th year of teaching and my 2nd year at Sue Cleveland as the Physical Education teacher. We have an 13 year old daughter named Kalyn who attends Woodmont Middle School, a cat named Mr. Kitty, and a Chihuahua named Tigger.
I am very excited for a great year of PE at Sue Cleveland Elementary!
