Hello Chandler Creek families! I’m Natalie Hooker, and I’m excited to be in my fourth year here at Chandler Creek. Being part of this wonderful community truly means a lot to me! 

A little about me: I grew up in Florence, South Carolina, and graduated from West Florence High School. My path to college was a bit unconventional—I spent time exploring the world working for American Airlines before settling in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with my family. It was there that I decided to pursue my Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Pittsburgh. After taking a few years off to focus on my children, I earned my Master’s in School Counseling (PK-12) from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, graduating in 2020. 

As your school counselor, I want you to know that I am here to support every child through whatever challenges they may face. My goal is to provide a safe, caring space where students and families can find guidance and encouragement. 

My husband Mark and I have two wonderful children. Our daughter graduated from the University of Utah with an Atmospheric Science Degree and now is in graduate school at the U and our son, Grayson is starting the seventh grade and he has discovered fishing and continues his journey with Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.  We’re an “All In” family, cheering for the Tigers and the Utah Utes.  I cheer for the Steelers, Penguins, and Pirates—after all, I lived in Pennsylvania for 18 years before returning home to South Carolina. So, you’ll often see me sporting Clemson colors, Utah Utes colors, Pittsburgh colors, and of course, CHAMPION colors!

We’re an active family who loves the outdoors from the mountains to the oceans.  I'm so excited that this year's theme is "Dive Into Learning".  The reason why I am so excited because I am an advance diver!    The deepest dive I have done was 100 feet deep on a drift dive off the coast of Cozumel.  Other places I have gone scuba diving is Hawaii, Ambergris Caye (Belize), St. Lucia, and Dominica Republic . I’m looking forward to another fabulous year serving your children. It’s truly an honor to be part of your family, and I can’t wait to see y’all, yinz, or you guys!
