Mrs. Fansher is here to support you with technology and information literacy integration, as well as professional support.
Some of the services offered include:
Get More Out of Google: Teach students tricks and tips for more successful, efficient Google searches.
Information Evaluation - Help students understand how to evaluate the information they encounter.
Digital Research - Students can take advantage of our school subscription to NoodleTools to create fully digital research projects, including digital note cards, outlines, citations, works cited pages, and papers.
DISCUS - Database instruction tailored to your subject area or project needs.
Overdrive - Show students how to access free ebooks and audiobooks, and demonstrate how to access them on computers and devices.
Library Guides & Destiny Collections - One-stop information for student projects and unit studies. Ask Mrs. Fansher to create a Library Guide or a Destiny Collection for your next project.
Readers' Advisory - Mrs. Fansher provides a series of lessons to help students take responsibility for their reading. Students will learn how to effectively use all the features in Destiny Discover and online tools such as Goodreads and Novelist. They can even have the opportunity to "speed date" with library books to find their reading match.
Technology Tools - Want to add a little technology to your lesson? Mrs. Fansher can help!
Teachers may send one student at a time to the library. If your students need special help, please let us know in advance. Each student that you send to the library must have a SmartPass. Please remind students to sign in and sign out upon entering and leaving the library.
Treat the library as a classroom (or better!)
Teachers and students should not bring food or drinks into the library.
Please refrain from talking on your phone in the library.
If your group would like to reserve the library after hours for a special event, please complete the Events/Facility Request form on the Teacher Hub. Groups should not bring food or drinks into the library, should rearrange any furniture back to the way they found it, and should call a custodian if cleaning is needed.
Laminating - Please leave your items to be laminated under or near the laminator. We run the laminator sometime between 7:30 and 10:30 each day. Do not leave items with staples or anything thicker than poster board. The film is 25" wide. Laminating is provided free of charge to WHHS teachers.
Posters - Teachers may have either three small posters (18.5"x24") or one small poster (18.5"x24") and one large poster (24"x31") for free. Additional small posters are $3 each, and additional large posters are $5 each. Submit requests on the Poster Printer Form.
