CIRCULATION

  • Students may check as many books as they can reasonably take care of.

  • Books are checked out to students for 3 weeks. The due date is stamped on the inside cover of the book.

  • Students may renew their books as long as no one else is waiting for it.

  • We do not charge overdue fines for late books. Please be considerate of others and return your books as soon as possible.

  • Please be a good steward of the library materials. Keep food and drinks and Axe Body Spray away from your library books. Talk to Mrs. Fansher if you have lost or damaged a book.

PRINTING

  • Students may print black & white for $0.10 per page

  • Students may print color for $0.25 per page

  • Please be sure to bring cash with you when you print. We cannot debit money from your lunch account.

  • Students are responsible for all pages that they print.

BYOD IN THE LIBRARY

  • Please don't talk on the phone in the library. No one wants to hear your conversation. If you are disturbing others you will be asked to modify your behavior or leave the library. If you have a serious need to use the phone, please see Mrs. Fansher and she will find a suitable location for you to make an incredibly brief phone call.

  • Students who enter the library as part of a class with a teacher will follow that teacher's instructions for use of Personal Electronic Devices (PEDs) and will abide by the BYOD policy and Acceptable Use Policy.

  • BYOD is always on for students who are visiting the library on a pass. It is expected that everyone will follow all Acceptable Use Policies and Personal Electronic Device guidelines. These guidelines are in the student handbook.

  • Please remove your earbuds and put your phone away when receiving instruction from or having a conversation with the library staff.

LIBRARY ETIQUETTE

  • When you visit the library on a pass you are required to sign in and sign out with your student ID.

  • Respect other patrons by working quietly and leaving your area clean and neat.

  • Please return all books to the librarian or library clerk to be reshelved. Do not attempt to reshelve your own books.

  • Personal Electronic Devices (PEDs) may be used in accordance with school and district policies. Improper use of devices will result in disciplinary action and loss of PED privileges in the library. Devices should be on silent mode at all times in the library.

  • All beverages must be in a container with a tight fitting lid.

  • No food is allowed in the library. Anyone who chooses to eat in the library will be asked to leave. A second offense will result in the loss of library privileges. See Mrs. Fansher if you must eat and she will help you find a suitable location to do so.

MATERIALS SELECTION POLICY

  • Materials are selected to support the curriculum and instructional program of the school as well as the needs and interests of all patrons (i.e., students, teachers, administrators, and support staff). The library provides materials in a wide range of difficulty, in a variety of formats, representing diversity and differing points of view.

  • However, the Internet and other on-line resources are not subject to the materials selection policy.

  • The certified school librarian is charged with the day-to-day operation of the library, including the coordination and selection of all purchases of materials for the resource collection. The school librarian is encouraged to seek assistance and advice from administrators, teachers, curriculum specialists, teaching assistants, parents, and others affiliated with the school when ordering materials for the school library. However, the final decision rests with the school librarian.

  • The entire Materials Selection Policy can be viewed here.
