About me

 My name is Marcy Dorram and I am super excited to inform you that I will be your child’s first grade teacher!  I have lived in the Omaha area for most of my life and for a short time in North Platte where I worked at Union Pacific Railroad.  I graduated from Peru State College with a degree in Elementary Education and an endorsement in Early Childhood Education.  This will be my eleventh year teaching in Gretna.

My husband, Casey, and I were married in October of 2007 and currently reside in Gretna.  We have two beautiful children.  Levi is now 14 and will be a freshman at Gretna East and enjoys fishing.  Haley is 12 and will be in the seventh grade this year and loves to dance and will be going to Aspen Creek Middle School.  They are so much fun and keep me on my toes all of the time!  We have a Miniature Australian Shepherd who is always entertaining all of us and we have two rabbits that the kids showed in 4-H this year.

First grade is such an incredibly important year in your child’s elementary education – this is where they learn to read with fluency, learn to spell, and become authors and scientists!  I love teaching first grade because it gives me the opportunity to watch them learn and blossom as students.  I take this responsibility very seriously.  I believe in designing my lessons so students are having an enjoyable and fun time as they build on their milestones of learning.  It is so important to start a solid foundation to encourage lifelong learning in and outside the school walls.
