All students are required to complete a minimum of 40 hours of community volunteer experience. There are many ways to acquire these hours within the school and within the community. Please check with the guidance staff to ensure that potential volunteer opportunities will be recognized.
It is all about giving back to your community. There are many services, clubs, and events that we are able to take part in that are organized and run by volunteers in our community. This is your chance to be part of these events and give back some time. It is also an opportunity to meet new people, be part of some great events, and make connections for future job opportunities.
Be sure you are not volunteering for a position that is normally a paid position or a family member, as this will not qualify for your 40 hours required for your diploma. A true volunteer position is helping a service organization, a community club, sports club, church group/activity, or a non-profit organization.
