School Advisory Council (SAC)

Expectations of Riverside Elementary School Advisory Council (SAC)

The Riverside Elementary School Advisory Council becomes meaningfully involved in our school by:

• Participating in ongoing efforts of the school to improve

• Recommending a school improvement plan to the CBVRSB

• Contributing to the school's annual report on the schools efforts to improve student achievement and performance

• Advising the principal and staff on school policies, curriculum and programs, practices, student discipline, fundraising, parent-school communication and similar matters

• Advising the school board on curriculum and student support services, policy development, funding, communication strategies and similar matters

• Serving as a Study Committee when the school is identified for review

• Promoting communication among SAC partners, community, students and staff

• Reviewing and updating the Letter of Agreement and SAC by-laws

• Participating in the selection of the school's principal according to the Education Act Section 22(f)
