Options and Opportunities (O2) is a Nova Scotia program offering students a high school experience that helps prepare them for successful transition from high school to the post-secondary education needed to pursue their chosen career paths.



Coming Together!- An opportunity for APSEA Families

An opportunity for parents and adult family members to come together, and learn from each other as they explore life and the needed supports for their child. Sessions will provide strategies to support active engagement in life and community through self-advocacy and self-determination. Join Lisa and Brian from Counselling Services in these virtual conversations. (Sessions will take place once a month from January until June)
Interpreter services will be available.

Breton Education Centre is a Middle School/Senior High School which serves all of the students in grades 6-12 in New Waterford and surrounding areas. The school opened in 1970 and replaced three former high schools, Mt. Carmel, St. Agnes and Central. 2019-20 will mark the beginning of the 50th  year for Breton Education Centre and the student enrollment is approximately 620. Breton Education Centre is a community school. It has tremendous support and involvement from the community and the school, in turn, continually responds to various community needs. Breton Education Centre is home to  continuing education classes and a teen health centre.

Breton Education Centre strives for excellence and is very proud of the success of its many students during its 50 year history. The school strives to develop the academic, social and athletic potential of all students in a safe and caring learning environment. The school fosters an open door policy and welcomes the opinions of students, parents, teachers, and community members.
