College Visits to GHS
The fall is a popular time for colleges to visit GHS in the College & Career Center! For the 2023/2024 school year, college visits will be either in-person or virtual. Students will come to E106 (the College and Career Center) to attend the visit.
For seniors and juniors who have colleges in mind, it is strongly suggested they review the list of colleges below and attend a presentation. Students should carefully review the procedures below.
College visits are posted in the following places:
Online: Go to the Naviance Program for current listing and registration.
Auditorium: Outside the doors of Current Issues(CI) class.
School Counseling Department: Outside main entrance.
College & Career Center (E106): Outside main door.
Bulletin Boards: Throughout GHS.
Important Notice for Students
Seniors
Seniors must sign up, thru their Naviance account, at least one hour prior to the presentation to attend any college visit. Even if you have a free period, you are required to register online with Naviance to attend the presentation.
An email invitation/confirmation will be sent to you, which you will use as your pass to attend the visit.
Juniors
Juniors may attend only those visits which are scheduled during a free period or lunch. An email invitation/confirmation will be sent to you, which you will use as your pass to attend the visit.
Juniors must sign up through their Naviance account, at least one hour prior to the presentation, to attend a college visit.
Attending a College Visit at GHS
Seniors are required to sign up to attend the presentation through their Naviance account. (Juniors are allowed to attend college visits during their free periods or lunch.) Sign up through Naviance.
Log onto Naviance, click on "Colleges", then click on "College Visits" to see who is coming and to register. The calendar on this page will be updated daily with all scheduled visits.
Students will be alerted, via email, of those visiting colleges they have "favorited" in the Naviance "Colleges I'm Thinking About" field.
Visits are scheduled during all periods (except period 1) in 30 minute increments.
Please come to the College & Career Center (E106) for all visits, unless otherwise directed.
