Namesake

Gingersnap had been in a foster home for more than a year following five lonely years in a shelter. She had a confusing medical history that included breast cancer, mast cell cancer and severe arthritis. Her rescue group provided some medical treatment but their mission was to place foster dogs in permanent homes and Gingersnap, with her history, had no prospects.

With the help of a wonderful veterinarian, we got her on the right track.

Gingersnap House was formed to help take care of these special dogs who need a stable home and consistent care.

For a time, Gingersnap was well enough to earn her qualification as a therapy dog. She visited a local nursing home for three years and brought joy to many lonely people.  We lost Gingersnap on July 25, 2017 but she remains our inspiration.
