About Me

Hi, My name is Kim Cobb.  This is my eighth  year at Gilpin County Schools, and I am excited for the opportunity to work in my own community.  I have had the pleasure of working as a middle school counselor prior to this position for 10 years, and I love the variety that being the k-12 counselor entails.  I received my B.A. from U.C. Santa Barbara, and I have a M.A. in Counseling Psychology/Counselor Education with an emphasis in public school counseling from C.U. Denver.

I truly enjoy working with students, and helping them discover their strengths, interests, and talents and what careers might align with those.  I work collaboratively with students, teachers, staff and parents to address the needs of the whole child in the personal/social, academic, and career domains. Please see the following link to understand more about the role of a school counselor.

Outside of school, I enjoy traveling, hiking, paddleboarding, cooking, camping, reading, and spending time with my friends, family, and fur babies. Some Fun facts: I have been scuba diving with sharks (not on purpose), and I was in a movie with David Hasselhoff! I look forward to getting to know you and your kiddo. Please don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns.
