I am Jim Lik Fu, an ex-student of Carmel Alison Lam Foundation Secondary School (CALFSS) who graduated in 2013.  Now I am a student of BSc in Global Economics and Finance at The Chinese University of Hong Kong.

I was blessed to have studied at CALFSS where not only could I receive an all-rounded education but also know more about God.  The school life at CALFSS was colourful, fruitful and memorable. I was my honour to be appointed as the head prefect of my school when I was in Secondary 5.  Taking up such a leadership role did help me enhance my abilities dramatically in different aspects. This enables me to develop better interpersonal communication skills and how to handle the problems and conflicts.  Gaining more experience, I have learnt how to face challenges and become more independent.

Also, I have noticed the importance of team work and mutual support is essential to cultivate good team spirit. Being a leader in Prefect Body helps me to be more self-disciplined. I have to be a good role model, do more than I am asked to.  This definitely helps excel myself in shouldering various responsibilities as well as enriches my school life.

Apart from my studies and the prefect works, I participated in several intra-school competitions including Alison Lam Outstanding Students Award and Alison Lam Outstanding Leader Award.  I am grateful that I have gained much support from my teachers and schoolmates and was selected to be the winner of both competitions.  I was fortunately awarded “Alison Lam Foundation Scholarship for Social Development” and “Alison Lam Foundation Scholarship for Outstanding Academic Achievement”.  These two honours do make me understand my endurance and devotion in work do gain recognition from both my teachers and the judges..

In addition to school achievements, academically, I won an award of HKIAAT (Bronze Award of Accredited Accounting Technician (AAT) Foundation Examination) which has proven me as a student who is well equipped with commercial knowledge and I am talented and skilled in such field. I also participated in an “Outstanding Student Programme” held by the “Association of Heads of Secondary Schools of Tsuen Wan, Kwai Chung and Tsing Yi District” to receive training with numerous outstanding students from different secondary schools.

I have to show my deepest gratitude to CALFSS which provides an ideal environment to nurture me and help excel my potentials. What I have learnt from CALFSS can definitely benefit me in my current and future studies.  Colossians 2:3 says, "In Him are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge."  I will keep working hard to achieve my goals and I hope all students at CALFSS can enjoy their precious school life and be embraced by God’s love.
