Thank you so much to everyone who helped out at Carols on the Square and the Ranlo Parade! If you have not sent in 2-3 bags of candy, please do so this week for the Dallas Parade.

    Fruit Delivery
Our fruit is now scheduled to arrive on Monday, Dec. 12 during the late afternoon or early evening. Usually we get our delivery early in the morning and have time to sort it out before people pick up in the afternoon. This time, it is imperative that we have people on hand to help unload the truck when it gets here and then sort through the fruit. We still need to be able to get all orders out that evening if at all possible. I probably won't know until Saturday an approximate time for the delivery. My best guess right now is sometime after 4:00. If you are available to help any time between 4-9pm, please reply to this e-mail and let me know.

    Basketball Concessions
We still need more help for concessions at tonight's basketball game. We still have one spot available for 1st shift and two spots for 2nd shift. If you can help, please click the link below to sign up or reply to this email. Thank you!

    Carols on the Square/Ranlo Parade
For Carols on the Square tonight, students should wear blue jeans and some kind of shirt that is red, black, white, or green. They will probably also need a jacket as temperature will be in the 40's during the event. We will wear the marching uniform for the parade on Saturday. Students will meet at the old courthouse and should be picked up no later than 7:45. The event should be over by 7:30. On Saturday, students will meet at the high school and we will take a bus to the parade. Please make sure your child is picked up after the parade no later than 2:45. If all goes as planned, they should be ready to leave closer to 2:30. See below for the complete schedule.

    Basketball Concessions
We are still in need of parents to sign up to work at the basketball games. This can be a huge fundraiser for us, but we need your help. As of now, we only have one parent signed up for one shift at one game. Please click on the link below to see the available dates and sign up today!

We still need more candy for the parades. If your child has not brought in 2-3 bags of candy, please have them do so tonight or tomorrow morning. Thank you!

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving break! Here's what you need to know.

    Playing Tests
All playing tests for the 2nd grading period are due today. Students were given these assignments on Nov. 1 and have had since then to record and submit their tests. No recordings will be accepted after today.

    Carols on the Square/Parades
On Friday, the marching band will perform for Carols on the Square. This is an annual event held at the old courthouse here in Dallas. On Saturday, the marching band will march in the Ranlo Christmas Parade. Students will need to eat before they report to the band room. We will not have lunch before the Ranlo parade since we are not doing the Hardin parade that morning. I just found out over the break that the Hardin parade has been scheduled for Dec. 17. We are not available that day, so we won't be marching in that parade this year. Finally, the Dallas Christmas Parade is Friday, Dec. 9. Please see the schedule linked below for all of these and let me know if you have any questions.
    Basketball Concessions
Our biggest fundraiser this year starts next week. Each year, we sell concessions at the basketball games. This is especially important this year since the Invitational was held inside thus diminishing our profits. Parents, we need you to sign up to work the concession stand. There are two shifts for each game and you can choose to work one or both shifts. We have three games in December, four in January, and two in February. Students were given the opportunity to sign up for the December games earlier this month and I am working on scheduling them now. They will not sign up on Charms. Parents, you will be able to sign up to work beginning tomorrow at 9am. The list will go live on Charms at that time. For each hour that a parents or student works, you will earn $1 toward your student account. Note: The game originally schedule for Friday, Dec. 2 has been cancelled.

    Winter Concert
This year's winter concert is on Tuesday, Dec. 13. Call time for students is 6pm and the concert begins at 7pm. Dress for men: White or black long-sleeve dress shirt, black dress pants, tie, black socks, black dress shoes. Dress for Women: Long black skirt/pants with white or black blouse or long black dress, black dress shoes.

    Fruit Orders
Fruit orders were due today. All money is being picked up in the morning, so I must have all orders no later than 7:45 tomorrow morning. None will be accepted after that.

All proofs of the individual marching band pictures must be turned in tomorrow. If you are not ordering, please sign the bottom of the envelope.

    Playing Tests
Please make sure your student is completing their playing tests in Charms. They have assignments due each Monday this month. The assignments in Charms can be recorded using any device that can connect to the internet and has either an internal or external mic. They also have Smart Music assignments that should be completed here at school. All tests submitted by 12:00 today have been graded and put in Power School. Percussionists will be graded in class. Their grades will be updated by the end of this week for the assignments due on Nov. 7. Let me know if you have any questions.
