1. The JROTC Sweetheart Dance this year will be held on Saturday, Februa1 Boulevard, North Myrtle Beach, SC 29582.
2. SJHS has 45 tickets, Cadets must meet pre-requisites and priorities to be able to purchase tickets. If they make the cutoff for tickets, they may buy one ticket for themselves and a date. If their date is in JROTC they must also meet pre-requisites. More tickets may become available if other schools do not sell theirs. Cost is $40 a ticket.
-Pre-requisites: A or B in JROTC, no referrals or behavioral issues, returning 2nd Semester.
-Priorities:
1. Honor Guard, Varsity Archery/Raiders, Company Commanders, First Sergeants, Primary Staff
2. JV Archery/Raiders, Company Executive Officers, Color Guard, Platoon Leaders/Sergeants, Assistant Staff
3. Squad/Team Leaders
4. All others
Cost is $40 per ticket and permission slip must be turned in together to reserve a spot.
3. Cadets are not to arrive at the venue before 7 pm and will not be allowed entry after 7:30. This will allow cadets and instructors time to prepare for the opening ceremony.
Early departures from the dance will require coordination and approval of the cadet’s instructor. The JROTC Ball will end promptly at 11 pm. (Cadets must provide their own transportation to/from the ball)
4. This is considered a school function; therefore Parent Permission slips are required and must be turned in NLT 31 Jan 24 (in attachments below). This includes any dates.
Only High Schools Students may attend our JROTC Ball.
5. The uniform for Army male JROTC cadets will be service dress with white shirt and black bow tie or Service tie, as appropriate (no hats or caps are required). All other Cadet’s will wear their Service dress uniform with black bow tie or Service tie. Female cadets may wear a dress or their uniform, as desired (school dressed code required). This is a formal event, so a formal dress should be worn, think prom (no sun dresses, short skirts, etc...). Escorts (not in JROTC) of our female cadets must wear a suit or sport coat and tie or they will NOT be allowed entry. All cadets should remain fully dressed throughout the dance. Likewise, the escorts (not in JROTC) should remain in their suit or sport coat and tie.
6. The Ocean Drive Beach and Golf Resort will provide dinner for the JROTC Ball. The menu will include heavy hors d’oeuvres and should alleviate the need to eat dinner before arriving.
7. The Ocean Drive Beach and Golf Resort will handle all decorations. Schools may bring their unit flags if desired.
8. Dirty dancing will not be tolerated. Students or escorts that refuse to comply with school rules of behavior will be asked to leave and parents notified as soon as possible.
