Spanish Summer Fun!

Posted here are some things for you to do in the summer to keep your Spanish fresh in your mind.  Remember that to learn a new language, you need daily practice!  We want to build language, so we need to add to what we know in a systematic way!

I have an app to recommend for you this summer:  Duolingo.  It will give you a variety of ways to practice Spanish and build/review skills.

I can HIGHLY RECOMMEND a video series that was created by BBC.  It used to be available through their website, but now is accessed via YouTube.  It is not as interactive as it was originally, but you will see the benefit of this mini-series filmed in Spain - completely in Spanish - and will LOVE watching this mystery.  There is a link below to Mi Vida Loca. Watch the first episode ... you will be "hooked!"

It would also be a great idea to watch the teaching videos here on my website.  Remember they are short, yet very informative, and will remind you of the many concepts you learned in my class this year.  There are some videos there that were not specifically assigned during the school year, but were things we learned.

Another great idea! . . . watch Señor Wooly videos!  You will have access to my Sr. Wooly account until the end of summer. Remember he also has games that can be played on a laptop or desktop computer.  The games give good practice in connecting what you hear in Spanish to the written words.

Have fun practicing your Spanish!  Find something that you can do.  Remember the goal is to "stay fresh" with your new skills in the Spanish language.  I will miss you as you move on to high school.  Stay in touch when you can!

Mi Vida Loca - videos - The is the next best thing to a trip to Spain! You will be immersed in the language by watching all the episodes of this mystery story.  Start watching the episodes of this story on Day 1 of the summer!  You will really enjoy this mini-series and learn lots of Spanish while watching!
