Children’s birthdays are acknowledged in a variety of ways at elementary schools. Schools are encouraged to work with parents in celebrating birthdays that will not include the distribution of snacks in accordance with the FISD Elementary Handbook. At Taylor, we invite you to let us celebrate your child at school. We announce their birthday on daily announcement, give them a birthday crown, and teachers have individualized ways of making them feel special in the classroom. During GMT, they get to join the stage for Active with Anderson.
You are not obligated as a parent to send anything. If you would like to send something, you can make a class donation on their birthday of a classroom library book, brain break items such as bubbles/sidewalk chalk, or simple supplies such as pencils. We will not accept any cupcakes, donuts, food treats of any kind.
Students issuing invitations to individual birthday parties or other celebrations may only do so at school if all students in the class are invited. These celebration invitations must be passed out at the end of the day with permission from the teacher. Classroom teachers are not allowed to pass along invites in another manner or share personal student information with you to personally invite students.
