4th Grade Spelling Policy
• Students will not be given a spelling pre-test, in order to provide each student additional instructional time to work authentically with words.
• Students will receive a bi-weekly spelling test grade based on the correct spelling of their words. Students will take an editing test when there is not a spelling test.
• When the challenge words are given, each word spelled correctly on the challenge list will be counted as an additional point to be added to the spelling test grade.
• A student’s average writing score at the end of the nine weeks cannot be more than 100.
