How can I volunteer?

We always love parent volunteers!  There are opportunities for parents to volunteer in and out of the classroom.  Please let your child's teacher know if you are willing to volunteer.  If you plan on volunteering at school or chaperoning field trips, you will need to fill out a criminal background check.  This form may be found on the Frisco ISD website.  Please allow at least two weeks for your background check to process.  Thank you for everything you do!

How do I sign up to for the PTA?

Sign up forms will be available at Meet the Teacher Night, Curriculum Night and they will also be sent home with your child after the school year starts.  Please fill out the form and send it back to your teacher, along with your membership dues.  If you are interested in signing up to be a room parent for your child's classroom, make sure to visit the Sem PTA website for information/contact information about this and SO much more. We encourage all families to get involved, you will be so happy you did!!

How do I sign up for a Parent Teacher Conference?

Parent Teacher Conferences are a great way to touch base with your  teacher and learn about how your child's school year is going.  Parent Teacher Conference dates and times will be announced soon.

What is the best way to contact my child's teacher?

Your child's teacher is always available through phone or email. If you would like to meet in person, contact your child's homeroom teacher and she will provide her availability and work with your schedule as well to facilitate a good time for both of you to meet.

What should I do if my child will be absent?

FISD requires written documentation whenever a student is absent. Calling the office does not excuse an absence. Please go to Sem Elementary School website http://schools.friscoisd.org/campus/elementary/sem/ home and at the top right hand corner, report your student’s absence, please do not email teachers any absences.

All absences should be documented this way. If you have a question about anything regarding attendance, please email our Data Clerk/Registrar, Brandy Schulte

Brandy Schulte: schulteb@friscoisd.org

What is the district's attendance policy?

Our district's attendance policy is designed to support all children in their education.

We understand that sometimes it is necessary to schedule a medical appointment during the school day.  The absence will be excused with a note from the doctor's office.  Absences due to illness for 4 or more days require a doctor's note upon return to school.

Please keep in mind that part day absences and tardies count toward attendance, and excessive absences will result in truancy documentation.  More information can be found in the Resources and Information  section of the FISD website.

**Your child will have 1 day for everyday absent to make up their missed school work.

What is the dress code?

The dress and grooming standards of the Frisco Independent School District are meant to promote a positive, professional learning environment where the focus is on instruction and not on clothing. Clothing, hairstyles and accessories should not be disruptive, immodest or compromise student safety.
