Hello!
Hello! My name is Lawanda Smith, and I’m so excited to begin my 16th year in education. This will be my 7th year here at Robertson—and in Texas! I’m proud to say I was born and raised in Louisiana, which means I have a deep love for seafood and, of course, the New Orleans Saints.
My family is my greatest joy. I have two daughters—one attending Louisiana State University and the other at Bethune-Cookman University in beautiful Daytona Beach, Florida—and a son who is a 9th grader at Frisco High School. My husband, Dedric, also works at Frisco High, where he teaches, coaches varsity football, and serves as head track coach.
I earned my Master of Arts in Teaching from Northwestern State University in Louisiana, and I’m passionate about making learning meaningful, engaging, and fun for every student who walks into my classroom. I can’t wait for another amazing school year together!
