Hi, 

My name is Melissa Shiflet and I'm so happy to be teaching at Phillips Elementary. I graduated from the University of North Texas with a degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education, and I have been teaching for 22 years. This will be my sixth year in Frisco ISD. Over the years, I have taught preschool, kindergarten, first grade, and third grade.

I have two incredible kids, Cole and Bailey. My son, Cole, is married to my sweet daughter in law, Courtney.  In my spare time, I love to watch volleyball and baseball games, read, spend time with my family, and go on walks with my dog, Rio.

I’m very passionate about helping my students to be successful and I absolutely LOVE teaching kindergarten!  I am grateful for the privilege to be part of a child's first experience with school.
