What are the normal school hours?
School hours are form 7:45 to 3:05. Students should arrive to school by 7:40am. Any student who enters the building after 7:45 will be marked tardy by the office.
What do I do if my child is absent?
Please contact the front office at 469-633-3525. Or you may log onto the Ogle website and click on "Report an Absence" and send an e-mail. Once your child is ready to return to school, please send a note in their take home folder within three days of their absence explaining the reason for the absence. Yes, please do this even if you have already called to notify the office on the day of their absence.
Will dismissal change on a rainy day?
Dismissal will remain the same on a rainy day. However, the pick up process may take a little longer as we work to ensure the safety of our students and families. Please be patient with us! If you are in a carpool or car rider pick up line, we ask that you please stay in your car as this will help us with safety issues and keep the line moving as smoothly as possible.
What if there is a change in my child's transportation?
If you know in advance that there will be a change, send a note to your child's teacher in their planner or via e-mail.
If it is an unexpected or last minute change in your child's transportation, please call the Ogle front office at 469-633-3525. Tell our receptionist of the change. She will notify us so that we can make the appropriate change. We ask that you do not contact the teacher, send an e-mail or leave a message on the teacher's voicemail. We will be focused on our students' learning and may not receive the message in time to help your child get to the correct place for pick dismissal.
What do I do if my child forgot their lunch?
There are a couple of options:
1. They can go through the cafeteria lunch line for that day. If you choose this option, you will want to plan ahead at the start of the school year and throughout the duration, and make sure there is money in their lunch account. Check out the FISD Child Nutrition website for more details about our district food service program at http://www.friscocafe.org/
2. You can bring a lunch up to school for your child prior to 11:00am and leave it at the front office with our receptionist. They will get it to your child's classroom in time for lunch.
Please feel free to send a snack with your child to school each day. Healthy snacks are encouraged. Please refrain from sending your child with a snack that needs refrigeration or heating. Juices and sodas are not permitted in the classroom so we ask that you send a water bottle with your child to school. In order to maximize student involvement in the classroom, students will not be permitted to leave the classroom to purchase a snack in the cafeteria during the school day. A child may purchase a snack from the cafeteria before school to keep in their backpack until snack time.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact your child's teacher at any time!
