Art Curriculum
Art Curriculum
Our curriculum is based on the Elements and Principles of Art: Line, Color, Value, Shape, Form, Texture, Space, Pattern, Rhythm, Balance, Movement, Emphasis, Variety & Unity. In the Art room students will expand their personal creativity by: drawing, painting, sculpture, clay, collage, and printmaking. Students will learn age appropriate vocabulary, terminology, and techniques. In addition to creating art, we will also be learning about artists and art movements, studying cultures and history through art, and critiquing our art and the art of others.

At the end of the school year, students' artwork will be sent home in a portfolio.hold on to the majority of artwork. Artwork that reflects an understanding of the art concepts taught throughout the school year may be displayed or selected for various contests or art shows. However, students will take all of their work home by the end of the school year.
