At the start of a new school year, many of our Kindergarten parents have several questions. We have provided this page in an effort to answers the most common questions we receive. If you have additional questions, please feel free to contact your child's teacher directly.
What are the Kindergarten school day hours?
Kindergarteners attend school from 7:45am to 3:05pm, Monday- Friday. Please plan to have your child arrive no later than 7:40 each morning. A tardy will be given to those students who arrive to school later than 7:45am.
How will I know where to pick up my child?
Here at Ogle, we have a great dismissal process for the entire student body. You will receive specific instructions as to the pick up procedure for your child depending on how they will be getting home. If you are a new parent/family to Ogle, there is a learning curve but we assure you that our system works! Please bring patience with you and prepare to allow a few minutes of extra time each day until you and your child feel good about their pick up system. If you have questions or need clarification, your child's teacher or any Ogle staff member will be able to help you. Additionally, we practice our dismissal the first week of school several times to assist the students as they learn their personal pick up routine. One tip that we have found to be very helpful, is to start off on the first or second day of school with your normal pick up routine. For example, if you are going to pick your child up in the Car Rider Line, you may want to go ahead and start that routine from day one. This way, we avoid the confusion that can come from changes in your child's end of the day routine.
Will dismissal change on a rainy day?
Dismissal will remain the same on a rainy day. However, the pick up process may take a little longer as we work to ensure the safety of our students and families. Please be patient with us! If you are in a carpool or car rider pick up line, we ask that you please stay in your car as this will help us with safety issues and keep the line moving as smoothly as possible.
What if there is a change in my child's transportation?
If you know in advance that there will be a change, contact your child's teacher.
If it is an unexpected or last minute change in your child's transportation, please call the Ogle front office at 469-633-3525. Tell our receptionist of the change. She will notify us so that we can make the appropriate change. We ask that you do not contact the teacher, send an e-mail or leave a message on the teacher's voicemail. We will be focused on our students' learning and may not receive the message in time to help your child get to the correct place for pick up.
What do I do if my child is absent?
Please contact the front office at 469-633-3525. Or you may log onto the Ogle website and click on "Report an Absence" or send an e-mail. Once your child is ready to return to school, please send a note in their take home folder within three days of their absence explaining the reason for the absence. Yes, please do this even if you have already called to notify the office on the day of their absence. You may also email our attendance clerk OgleAttendance@friscoisd.org
What time does Kindergarten eat lunch?
Our lunch time is from 10:30am to 11:00am each day.
Can I join my child for lunch at school?
Sure! We enjoy the lunch guests of our Kindergarteners. When you arrive to eat lunch with your child, you will check in at the front desk and get a visitor badge, then our receptionist will let you inside the building. At that time, please make your way to the cafeteria and wait for your child there. In addition, we ask that parents eat with their child at one of the visitor tables. We do not allow parents, siblings or family members to eat with their children at the student tables.
What do I do if my child forgot their lunch?
There are a couple of options:
1. They can go through the cafeteria lunch line for that day. If you choose this option, you will want to plan ahead at the start of the school year and throughout the duration, and make sure there is money in their lunch account. Check out the FISD Child Nutrition website for more details about our district food service program at http://www.friscocafe.org/
2. You can bring a lunch up to school for your child by 10:20am and leave it in the kindergarten bin in front of the cafeteria. Teachers will bring bin in at 10:30 for kindergarten lunch.
What kind of snack do I send with my child to school?
Snack is very important in our Kindergarten day. Snack time is approximately ten minutes and we usually eat snack in the classroom around 1:50. Below are some general guidelines for snack time:
* Be sure to pack the snack separately from the lunch. This will ensure that your child does not eat their snack at lunch time.
* Please send a healthy snack per day with a water bottle for the drink. You may also send in snack for the week.
* Please be sure that your child is independent with the snack you send. We continue working during snack time, so it is important that your child can manage their own snack.
* Please do not send candy of any kind.
* Please keep in mind that our snack time is 10 minutes and we will continue our school work during this time. So finger snacks are best.
* Water is the ideal drink for snack time since we eat in our classrooms, it's great for easy clean up and helps us keep our learning environment clean for maximum learning.
* Students may not share their snacks with their classmates.
* Make sure to check with your child's teacher before sending snacks with peanut products. If your child's classroom has a peanut allergy, no snacks with peanut products are allowed in the classroom.
What time does Kindergarten go to Specials?

When is my child's teacher's conference time?
