SNACKS: In second grade, students have the opportunity to eat a snack in the morning. Healthy snacks are encouraged and we ask that they not require a spoon to be eaten. We often have a working snack, and want the kids to focus on their assignment. Juice and soda are not permitted, and we ask that a full water bottle be sent in with your child daily. If your child needs to purchase a snack from the cafeteria, they must do so first thing in the morning upon arrival. A few snack ideas include: cereal, crackers, goldfish, fruit snacks, and granola bars.
*Please remember, we have nut-free classrooms. Please, no snacks containing peanuts or tree nuts.*
BIRTHDAYS: Due to the priority placed on food allergies, health, and wellness FISD has put in place a policy regarding birthday treats on elementary campuses. Birthday treats will not be a part of birthday celebrations. Teachers and students will continue to celebrate each child's birthday with pencils, bracelets and recognition. Thank you for your cooperation.
