Hello Mooneyham families!

My name is Kyanna Thomas.  I am originally from Long Island, New York.  I graduated from C.W. Post-Long Island University with a degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Speech Pathology.  I also hold a Master's Degree in Reading Education from Texas Woman's University.  I have taught for over 20 years in Kindergarten and First Grade.

I live in Mckinney with my husband, Kelvin, and our two handsome boys, Quawn and Kaden.  As a family we enjoy board games, football and trying out new restaurants.

My goal for my young students is that regardless of background each one becomes a confident and successful, lifelong learner.  I create a classroom environment where students feel safe, encouraged  and loved.  Curiosity, motivation, enjoyment and purpose are part of a viable classroom.  I want to motivate and engage students in each possible moment.  I'm excited to share this year with you!
