Lesson Idea #1:
High School Aquatics class is using Google Sites to document their trips to the creek once every 6 weeks. Each group has created a site and shared it with their group members and when they return from the creek they post:
Pictures and Videos (which are stored in Google docs and then embedded into the site)
Data and Graphs (which are created in Google docs and then embedded into the site)
Summary of their visits
Lesson Idea #2:
Middle School History teacher created a Google Site and is assigning each group in class a page and each page has a different topic. In Google Sites you can now create sharing permissions on individual pages. This allows students to see the entire site, but can only edit the page that they are assigned.
Lesson Idea #3:
Many teachers are creating Google Sites to share information with their students and parents. For example teachers can:
Embed a Google calendar into the site and even share the the Calendar URL with others which allows them to sync the teacher calendar into their own Google Calendar.
Embed a Google form
Collect parent contact information
Online quiz
Reflections
Attach documents to their site both standard file formats and files in Google docs.
Agendas
Notes
Study guides
Attach a link to a specific collection in Google docs which contains several files. This saves time not having to link all of your documents individually.
Embed tutorial videos created by a teacher and those located on video sites like YouTube.
