Dear Parents,
Your child has recently been assessed on his/her ability to rapidly read sight words. Many of these words cannot be “sounded out” and they need to learned by “sight”. Attached you will find a list of sight words that are at the appropriate level for your child to practice at this time. Please use this list to reinforce at home, as I will retest periodically. If your child is able to read the words from their word list, in random order, they will move on to the next level.

Suggested Activities:
· Practice reading the flashcards in random order.
· Make duplicates of the sight word cards and play a memory game.
· Sight Word Bingo
· Sight Word Cootie Catcher
· Sight Word tic-tac-toe
· BAM!!!
· Rainbow words
· Roll & Read
· Write the sight words on sticky notes and place them on a wall. Turn down the lights and give your child a flashlight. Have your child shine the light on the words and read each word.
