Important Information

Snack: We will have our snack time in the afternoon. Since we are an allergy class, please be sure to send in a "safe snack" that is listed on our approved snack list. On half days, please send in something extra as we will not have a lunch period.

Book Orders: Students will have the opportunity to order books from the Scholastic book order. Parents are under no obligation to order. This is a service provided to enable you to purchase books on level for your child at reasonable prices. If you chose to order, please make out checks directly to Scholastic Book Club. Do not make out checks to the school or send cash. If you wish to order online the web address is scholastic.com/bookclubs and our Class Activation Code: FRNFQ. You will need to create an account the first time you order online.

Mystery Reader: We will have a mystery reader come in once a week to read a book to our class. You will have the opportunity to pick a date of your choice and you will send in 5 clues the week of your visit. A sign-up form will be e-mailed through SignUp Genius. We can't wait to have you read to our class:)

Change in Dismissal: If there is going to be a change in the transportation routine for your child, please remember to send a note informing the teacher/school of your plans. Please DO NOT ask your child to communicate a change verbally. WE MUST HAVE A NOTE. Remind your child to give it to the teacher as soon as he/she gets to the classroom. Taking care of this early prevents stress and confusion for all concerned at the end of the day. In addition, if your child is enrolled in an after-school activity (Daisies, Enrichment, or a club) please send a note each time the child is to attend as this confirms their attendance and eliminates any confusion that may occur.

Star of the Week: Each week a child will be selected as our Star of the Week. When he/she is selected they are given special activities for each day of the week. Please refer to the Star of the Week memo for additional information.

Briarwood Document Manager: all school/district memos will be uploaded on the school's website and you will be given a weekly memo with the updates. Please check on a weekly basis.

Rainy Day Bags- please send in a gallon-sized Ziploc bag with activities for your child to do on days that we have indoor recess due to inclement weather (no electronics).
