The ISS is a space station (habitable artificial satellite) in low Earth orbit. It is 250 miles above the Earth's surface and it travels at 17,500 mph.  It circles the Earth every 90 minutes. It is as long as a football field. It has anywhere from 3-9 astronauts living on it at any given time.
