We will be learning letter sounds using a program called Jolly Phonics to give the EEP children a head start upon entering Kindergarten. We will be learning the sounds in the following order: s,a,t,i,p,n,c k,e,h, r, m, d, g, o, u, l ,f, b, z, w, v, y, x

The sounds are taught in this specific order to help children eventually build words. The letter s,a,t,i,p,n are taught first because there are many small worlds that can made using thee 6 letter.

We will be learning the single letter sounds throughout the school year. Please note the children will be identifying letters firstly by their sound and then by their name.

Each sound is taught with a corresponding action. Click here to see a list of actions.

To hear all the sounds click here. Make sure you click on the North American English sounds as they are slightly different from the British English sounds.

Once we have learned all 42 sounds we will start again. We will review the sound in this order until the end of the school year.
