Mathletics is an online tool for Math. I will assign tasks that have to do with the concepts we will focusing on as extra practice. Students can also enjoy "LIVE Mathletics" to practice their math facts for fun :)
Mathletics can be downloaded as an app or you can follow the link below for a laptop or computer! Student logins and passwords are located in the student agenda.
We will be focusing on 2-D and 3-D shapes.
2-D shapes lack depth and width- are flat.
3-D shapes have dimension- width, depth and height
Can your child name these 2-D shapes? Can they find these shapes in objects around the house?
Can they describe the attributes of each shape?
Attributes are the differences between the shapes:
-Vertices (corners)
-sides (how many)
Example) Triangle has 3 vertices (corners) and 3 straight sides. I see this shape in the corn chip I am eating.
Can you name the challenge ones!?
1) triangle
2) hexagon
3) rectangle
4) pentagon
5) square
6) trapezoid
7) rhombus
8) circle
9) parallelogram
